There’s no film quite like Birdman, and no drummer quite like Antonio Sanchez. One obvious reason for Birdman’s distinctive flavor is its intense, intricate and highly original solo drum score, composed and performed by Sanchez—a bandleader and a drummer for groups led by Pat Metheny, Gary Burton, Chick Corea and Christian McBride, among others. Antonio won all of the pre-Accadamy Awards ( and should have won the Oscar ! )

He’s bringing his potent band Migration with Seamus Blake -saxophones, John Escreet -pno, Matt Brewer -bass and Thana Alexa -voc. It is bound to be a high-flying evening of high-energy music.

Antonio is a three time Grammy award winner, was born in Mexico City, and is considered by many writers and musicians to be one of the most prominent, versatile and sought-after drummers of his generation.

"Vibrant drummer Antonio Sanchez has received rave reviews from jazz publications around the world. Sanchez may be best known as the inexhaustible rhythmic engine behind many of Pat Metheny’s recent projects." – The New Yorker.

"An egalitarian leader, Antonio's high-concept writing skills motivate his group, whose primary purpose is to blow, and blow hard!!!" -allaboutjazz.com
