Ethnic Heritage Ensemble leader, Kahil El’Zabar is considered one of the most prolific innovators of his generation. President Obama awarded him the International Ambassador’s Award in the Arts. Kahil and David Murray founded the iconic World Saxophone Quartet. Murray’s furious sax style has lyrical moments with which he helped carve out a space in the avant garde for tenderness and extended the language of bebop into more volatile territories. Between them they have won three grammys!!!
