Guitarist Pedro Martins' playing is mesmerising. It always feels completely natural while nothing stands in his way technically. He has an insouciant way of getting into a zone where ideas flow... It is about beauty, it's a breeze, it is addictive!!
Singer / keyboard player Genevieve Artadi, (co-leader of the widely popular band Knower) is a key member of this sextet. She has that same capacity to do the impossibly complex and make it sound natural.
Saxophonist David Binney, three time downbeat critics poll winner, reinforces all the tricky lines. Owning it in sharp contrast to the frictionless way the Brazilians are playing. But hey, opposites attract and tension is the glue that holds it together.
