An infinite jazz vision!
Sanders, who will turn 77 this October, was a member of the iconic John Coltrane combos. Most modern saxophonists were influenced by Coltrane, but Sanders is the only one who influenced Trane.
Ornette Coleman called Pharoah: “the best tenor player in the world, with one of the most resonant tenor sounds of anyone in current jazz”
“Pharoah has a formidable presence. He plays like a lion; relentless, ferocious... with a steely resolve striping “standards” of all sentimentality or pretension.”
“Sanders’ gloriously unhinged sax playing, and overall broadness of vision, inspire constant wonder. His is a radical groundbreaking exploration of an infinite jazz vision.” —Rolling Stone
“Pianist Benito Gonzales’s fusion of world rhythms and straight-ahead jazz endear him to audiences the world over.” —All About Jazz
