The Jazz Bakery was incorporated in 1993 as a California nonprofit corporation with tax-exempt status under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service code. Originally founded as a showcase for local talent, the Bakery’s reputation eventually gained international stature through founder and Artistic Director Ruth Price’s uncompromising artistic vision and commitment to presenting the finest in world-class jazz.
