The Jazz Bakery Performance Space is dedicated to growing and nurturing America's music, and to cultivating new audiences and emerging talent. We are presenters, educators, advocates, and community members, supporting the performing arts in all their diversity, and bringing the unifying power of music to the forefront of contemporary culture. The Jazz Bakery exists to:
Individuals and organizations can support the Jazz Bakery capital campaign in many ways. All gifts are tax deductible to the extent allowable by law. Every gift is important to the success of this campaign. No gift is too small, and all gifts will be gratefully received and recognized.
Since 1992 the Jazz Bakery has heralded the wider arts and economic development now burgeoning throughout the Culver City area. At our landmark center for the performing arts, the new Jazz Bakery will increase our historical presence, build new audiences and community dialogues, and provide an ideal venue for some of the greatest music of our time. Visionary leadership, combined with diversified revenue streams and ongoing funds development strategies will position the new Jazz Bakery for long-term stability.
More than any other art form, jazz unites diverse individuals toward intercultural collaboration and understanding. Jazz is also arguably America’s greatest original contribution to global culture.
“Liquid architecture. It's like jazz - you improvise, you work together, you play off each other, you make something, they make something. And for me, it's a way of trying to understand the city, and what might happen in the city.” Frank O. Gehry
