The City of Culver City Cultural Affairs has made it possible to hear one of THE great American arranger / composers. To date, Holman has received 14 Grammy nominations (won three), and was voted “Best Arranger” in the JazzTimes and DownBeat magazine polls. His scores and memorabilia are part of the Smithsonian. He has been honored by both the American Society of Music Arrangers & Composers and ASCAP. He is on the Jazz Wall of Fame and has now charted a global agenda... This is all a fancy way of saying: Everybody knows “Willis swings”! !
Through it all, Bill has maintained his own steller big band right here in Los Angeles... and lucky for us, with the help of Culver City Cultural Affairs, we have another chance to hear it in all its glory! !
